If you have hennessy v.s.o.p. don't you find it a complete waste to mix it with coke?

If that's what he's doing he might as well buy something cheaper like whiskey, they're basically the same thing. The difference between whiskey and cognac are a few minor ingredients and the time it's aged, otherwise they are very much the same. Cognac is supposed to be appreciated, drank neat (straight, not chilled) or on the rocks at the very most.





In my own personal opinion, your friend is trying to look cool, like a seasoned drinker by buying the cognac, but ends up looking like an idiot because he mixes it with coke.
